XV. Time-Out-Timer
The T-O-T (time-out-timer) will keep you from being
in a continuous transmit mode greater than 3 minutes.
When the P-T-T is pressed for over three minutes, the
T-O-T will terminate transmit for a period of 30 seconds.
This is a radio "courtesy" that will require that you
wait until the time-out period is over before another
transmission is allowed. This gives other parties an
opportunity to respond. This also saves power should
the P-T-T be pressed accidentally.
Turn the time-out-timer on or off by using these steps:
1. With the radio powered on, press the MODE button
six times or until you see the flashing "t" and
TOT indicator to advance to the time-out-timer
mode.
2. Press the UP (
Ù Ù
Ù Ù Ù ) / DOWN (
Ú Ú
Ú Ú Ú ) buttons to alternate
between on and off.
3. To continue with other programming functions,
press the MODE button to advance through
the programming mode or press P-T-T or the
WX / SCAN button to save the selected time-
out-timer setting and return to receive mode.
