J) Making a Cappuccino
To make a cappuccino, you must first make an espresso. Proceed as described under “Making an Espresso" from
steps 1 to 10 and then 1 or 2 cups brewing. To froth the milk, proceed as follows:
19. Make sure that the function selector (5) is in Off steam position (O-symbol) position.
20. Swing the steam nozzle (8) out so that you can position the container (please use a heat resistant container)
comfortably under the nozzle.
21. Fill the container up to a 1/3 with fresh cold milk (warm or hot milk does not froth).
22. Dip the steam nozzle (8) slightly below the surface of the milk in the container and turn the function selector
(5) to the left (Steam symbol).
23. Turn the function knob (5) to the heating position (the second function), and the indicator light flashes. When
it lights up permanently, it means that the steam is ready. Turn the function knob (5) to the steam position
and then the steam will be spouted. The indicator light flashes. Turn the function knob (5) to the off position.
24. Move the container slightly up and down. Once the milk reaches the desired volume, you can warm the milk
more by lowering the steam nozzle (8) to the bottom of the container. Do not make the milk boil or the froth
will] be ruined.
25. The indicating light flashes. Turn the function knob to the off position.
26. Scoop out the froth into the espresso. Add liquid milk. A cappuccino is usually composed of 1/3 coffee, 1/3
hot milk and 1/3 frothed milk
27. Your cappuccino is now ready; improve the flavour by adding some cinnamon or chocolate powder.
