Troubleshooting Electric Issues
ISSUE
CHECK
1. Lights on throttle won’t
come on when battery key is
turned ON.
Ÿ
Check battery charge. Make sure
battery has correct voltage on the
bottom connectors (POS-NEG). Use
voltmeter to check.
Ÿ
Check connectors and cables: battery
to controller, throttle to controller.
Ÿ
Possible faulty controller or
throttle.
Ÿ
Try replacing throttle.
Ÿ
Try replacing controller.
2. The lights come on, but the
motor doesn't work when
twisting the throttle.
Ÿ
Make sure the cable from the motor
to the controller is properly connected.
Force it in to confirm.
Ÿ
Visually check the motor cable for
damage.
Ÿ
Try replacing throttle.
Ÿ
Try replacing controller.
Ÿ
Last, replace the motor if not
soved by above.
3. Motor applies intermitent
power (jerks) and/or makes
intermitent noises.
• Motor cable, motor or controller
may be damaged internally.
Ÿ
Try replacing controller.
Ÿ
Try replacing motor.
4. Charger doesn't turn red to
start charging (stays green all
the time, no charging occur).
5. Motor works only on speed
2 (xpress), doesn't switch to
speed 1 (econo).
• Check connectors to the back of the
speed switch (may need to remove
switch) and also to controller (2-pin
connector white-white / to red-red).
Bridge 2-pin connector white-white
from controller and check speed.
• If bridge does work = faulty
switch; if doesn't = faulty
controller.
