You will need this manual
only to update versions below 1.8
to the current version.
Once a version higher than 1.8 is installed, follow the instructions
in the TR-DVS installation manual to update your device.
General
This document describes the installation of a new firmware and/or voice module..
Important notices:
•
A firmware update replaces the software of your device. The device will not func-
tion properly anymore if an error occurs during the update process.
•
Do not update your device right before a flight. Keep in mind that the update
process can fail and that your device may not work correctly anymore after that.
•
Make sure that your device is properly connected to the power supply and that
the power supply is fully charged.
•
Do never switch off the power supply during an update process.
•
Make sure that the software matches with your device before updating.
•
Do not install firmware that has a lower version number that the one installed on
your device.
Update process
Installing the software
Run " Setup.exe". The setup installs the files on your SD card and PC.
If you don’t have an SD card reader on your PC, chose another drive instead of the SD
card drive. You can copy the files installed in [Drive]:\\DVS\Update onto your SD card
afterwards (e.g. from PC to PDA and from PDA to SD card).
The update files must be in the \\DVS\Update folder of your SD card to correctly update
the device. Before removing the SD card from the PC, always activate the “safe remove”
function; the files on the SD card could otherwise be corrupted.
If you don’t have any possibility to copy the files onto the SD card, read the „Update
with Bootloader“.
