Remote Control Thermostat

Do not connect 120 VAC to the gas control valve or wiring system of this unit.

Turn the gas control valve to "OFF". Install a standard 9 volt battery into both the remote control
receiver and remote control.
Install a 9 volt battery in
both the remote control and
remote control receiver.
Slide the cover off of the
back of the remote
control to access the
battery holder.
This clip holds the
battery in place.

Route the thermostat wire through the back of the right side panel (there is a hole beneath the on/off
switch) and attach to the on/off switch (see the illustration below).
Remove the green
jumper wire.

Attach the quick connects
from the wire to the two posts
on the on/off switch
(orientation does not matter).

Pull through all the slack on the wire (you may wish to wrap the wire in electrical tape to prevent
damage to the wire).

The remote receiver may be located to a wall or on the rear panel.
To attach the receiver to a wall:
Determine a location for the receiver. A maximum 50' of wire may be used (use 18 gauge
thermostat wire - not supplied). Cut a 1-3/4" wide by 2-1/2" tall hole in the wall for the receiver (see
the illustration on the following page). Route the remote wire to the receiver location (wire may be
routed behind the wall or externally). Attach quick-connects to the receiver end of the wire and
attach to the receiver (orientation does not matter). Attach the receiver and cover plate to the wall
(you may be required to use a junction box behind the wall).
