Mounting a SafePace Guardian Standalone Camera System
Mounting a SafePace Guardian Standalone Camera System
Mounting your SafePace Guardian Standalone Camera System requires that you mount and connect each of
the following components of the system:
»
The external radar head
»
The Guardian camera
»
The (optional) illuminator
Mounting the External Radar
The external radar head comes with a Standard Pole Banding Mounting system. As this is a standard type of
mounting it requires no special knowledge to easily install the sign.

The banding straps included are long enough for use with a 5-inch pole. If you want to use a
larger pole, you will need to obtain longer banding straps.
Pointing the External Radar
As you mount the radar, keep in mind that it needs to be pointed differently depending on whether your
SafePace Guardian Standalone is rear-facing or front-facing. If it is rear-facing then you need to point the
radar towards an area of the roadway that is slightly closer than the area the camera is monitoring. If your
SafePace Guardian Standalone is front-facing then you need to point he radar towards an area of the
roadway that is slightly further than the area the camera is monitoring.
