OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before use, read fully and carefully this instruction manual.
2. Before first use of a magnet lifter, install lever (4) on rotor axle (6). There are two type of lever
assembly :
a. Type 1: screw lever (4) on the threaded hole of rotor axle (6).
b. Type 2: put lever (4) on the smooth hole of rotor axle (6) and lock it with the screw
provided.
3. Verify that weight, dimensions, steel type, surface quality and planarity of the load correspond
with magnet lifter specifications.
4. Verify magnet lifter condition and cleanliness. Carefully clean the active poles (1) and the
surface of the load in contact with magnet lifter. Remove flashings and possible surface
defects.
5. Put the magnet lifter on the load and position it in order to keep the load balanced during
lifting. Do not hesitate to make several trial lifts at low level in order to control the balance of
the load.
6. Control that constraints are on the axle of the magfor II magnet lifter : never apply inclined
loads.
7. To activate the magnet lifter, pull the lever (4) and rotate it up to locking device (3) action.
Ensure the locking device (3) is completely engaged before releasing the lever.
8. Lift the magnet lifter a couple of centimetres and hit the load to ensure sound attachment.
9. Inform persons lifting is about to commence.
10. Manually guide the load by its extremities during lifting.
11. Stay clear of the load at all times.
12. Avoid shocks and swaying. Keep the load in a horizontal position.
13. Carefully lower the load to retract a stable position.
14. Grasp the lever (4) and retract the locking device (3). Slowly return the lever to its initial
position to deactivate the magnet lifter.
ATTENTION: when the magnet lifter is
deactivated, a low residual magnetic
attraction strength can maintain a light load
(up to 15 kg for a magnet lifter with capacity
of 300 kg, up to 20 kg for a magnet lifter
with capacity heavier than 300 kg).
Safety device
Magnet lifter magfor IIs are fitted out with a
safety locking device which engages
automatically with the lever in order to avoid any unintentional magnet lifter disengagement. Use
of the two hands are necessary to deactivate the magnet lifter.
