4 ASI interface
The
ASI
data communication is an
A
synchronous-
S
erial transmission. The electrical
data corresponds to the RS422 interface with two lines for the inverted and the non-
inverted signal.
The baud rate of the ASI data transmission is adjustable and is 9600 baud by default.
A user data sign has a length of up to 12 bits and is composed of 8 data bits together
with 1 start bit, 1 parity bit and 1 or 2 stop bits. From 4 to 8 user data signs with one
CRC and one CR character can be transmitted per message. After the transmission of
a message follows a pause of
1.5 signs.
In order to ensure perfect data transmission, twisted pair data lines must always be
used.
