Prepare the portable/desktop computer by installing, connecting and configuring a
modem. The modem must be capable of communicating at a minimum of 2400 baud.

COM 1 or 2 only may be used by the portable/desktop computer.
Internal/External modems configured for COM ports 3 or 4 are not
supported by Stratagy Admin software.
Stratagy Modem
The Stratagy DK can communicate through either an internal or external modem.
Internal
The Stratagy DK has an internal modem that communicates at up to 2400 baud. No
additional equipment is necessary. (See
KM

An external modem can be installed on the Stratagy DK for a communication speed of 9600
baud. If 9600 baud communication is desired:

Equip the Stratagy DK with a Hayes-compatible 14400 V32.bis modem. Toshiba’s
remote/modem (SG-RMOD) has been tested for consistent operation and is
recommended. Use of other modem models cannot be guaranteed for trouble free
operation.

and
remote access utilise the same designated serial port on
the Stratagy DK.

Connect a telephone line to the modem. Use either a station connected to the telephone
system or a dedicated Exchange line.
