System Power Factor Check
The Strata CIX power supply was engineered for maximum cost efficiency to provide power for most
configurations. Because of this design, there are some DC power limitations for telephone option
hardware.
The sum of all PCB and telephones –24VDC PFs in a given cabinet cannot exceed 85 for the
CIX1200.
The sum of all PCB +5VDC PFs in a given cabinet cannot exceed 40 for the CIX1200.
Power factors for circuit cards and telephone devices are found in the Strata CIX Installation and
Maintenance Manual. The power factors for the CIX1200 processor cards are shown in the table
below.
Use the worksheets in the Strata CIX Installation and Maintenance Manual or the Toshiba CIX Quote
application to calculate the power factors for each cabinet.

Power-On Procedure
1.
Power up all fiber optic connected cabinets.
2.
Power up the Base Cabinet Stack.
Power-Off Procedure
Important!
When the power is shut down do not apply power again until all of the LEDs on
the power supply panel are fully extinguished.
Turning the power off then on too quickly will result in erroneous LED and LCD
indications on telephones in the fiber optic connected cabinets.
1.
Power down the Base Cabinet Stack.
2.
Power down all fiber optic connected cabinets.
