5.2 Serviceman Diagnostic Test Program Setup Procedure

5.2.1 Workflow
(1) Format the USB memory.
Format the USB memory, on which the Serviceman Diagnostic Test Program will be set up, in FAT32
filesystem. This operation is required for a USB memory only once.
(2) Copy necessary files into the USB memory.
Copy all the files stored in the folder “bootimage” into the USB memory. This folder is stored in the provided
USB DIAG. kit.
(3) Set up the boot loader.
Set up the boot loader to boot the Linux.
(4) Copy the keyboard setting file into the USB memory. (if necessary)
To perform the keyboard setting in the diagnostic test program, copy the keyboard setting file (DAT file) into
a specified folder on the USB memory.
5.2.2 Details of workflow
(1) Formatting the USB memory
This operation is required for a USB memory only once.
There are two types of formatting the USB memory; Formatting the USB memory on Windows XP and
Formatting the USB memory on Linux
Method 1: Formatting the USB memory on Windows XP
The USB memory is assigned with the drive D.
It is assumed that the USB memory is assigned with the drive D and the folder containing the USB DIAG. kit
data is assigned with the drive E.

Input “DIAGDSK” for the Volume label column.

button on the Format DIAGDSK (D:) screen.
