4 Replacement Procedures

4.3 HDD

Satellite A660/A665/A660D Maintenance Manual

Installing the HDD

Install the HDD according to the following procedures and Figure 4.6.

CAUTION:

To avoid damage, always hold the HDD only by its sides.

Place the HDD foil on the HDD.

Secure the HDD foil with four M3x3 screws in the order indicated in Figure 4.6.

NOTE:

The HDD foil screws on this module have oversized heads and are specific to the

system. Screws from older systems are not compatible and must not be used on the HDD.

CAUTION:

To prevent the HDD pack from being distorted when installing into the laptop, do

not press the center of the HDD pack. Always hold the HDD pack by its sides.

Install the HDD pack into the correct position in the laptop. Connect the HDD pack to the
laptop.

Secure the HDD door by tightening one M2.5x8 screw.
