Heat dispersal
To protect from overheating, the CPU has an internal temperature sensor
that triggers a cooling fan or lowers the CPU operating speed.
Use the
Toshiba Power Management Utility
to select one of three
temperature controls.
Maximum
Performance Mode
Turns on fan first, then if necessary lowers CPU
processing speed.
Mid Performance
Mode
Uses a combination of fan and lowering the CPU
processing speed.
Silent Mode
Lowers the CPU processing speed first, then if
necessary turns on the fan.
If the temperature rises to a certain level, the cooling fan is turned on or
the CPU operating speed is lowered.
When the CPU temperature falls to a normal range, the fan is turned off or
the CPU speed returns to normal.
If the CPU becomes too hot with either setting, the system automatically
shuts down.
