Internet Fax Kit - Updating the Firmware

SUPPLEMENT:

After restarting the machine, the NIC Status Sheet is automatically printed.  The firm-

ware version is listed on the sheet.  Confirm the firmware version is changed to the new
version.

2.2 Updating the Firmware using Flash Update

Update the firmware in the Network Interface Card from the computer using Flash Update.
Before updating, confirm that the NetWare client software is installed on your computer.  If not,
install it.  The NetWare server must be activated on the network and you must have supervisor
rights on the NetWare server to run this program.

(1)

Copy the update file to the local hard disk on your computer.

(2)

Click on "Start" and select "Programs".

(3)

Select the "Flash Update" in the "Programs" menu.

(4)

Click on "Flash Update" in the "Flash Update" folder.

(5)

The FTP Download screen appears.

(6)

The Select a file to download screen appears.

(7)

Select the folder that the update file is located at "Folders:" and select the update file at

the "File name" list.

(8)

Click on [OK].

(9)

The Select Units To Update screen appears.

(10) Select the machine from the list and click on [OK].

The machine is described with "MFP_XXXXXX" ("XXXXXX" is the serial number of
the NIC) or the printer server name that assigned to the NIC.

(11) The Flash Update Utility screen appears.  Start downloading.

•

Do not turn off the power of the machine during downloading.  It will cause to the fatal
dissolution of the Network Interface Card.

(12) The "Unit updated" message is displayed after it completes downloading.
(13) Click on [OK].
(14) Turn off the power of the machine and then turn it on to restart the Network Interface

Card.
