desktop and disappears into the folder.

To see your document, double-click the folder icon.
A window opens and displays the contents of the folder.

Close the window by clicking its Close button and
continue with the next lesson to learn how to start
programs.
Lesson 6: Starting programs
Usually, you will know which program you want to use for a
particular task.
This lesson teaches you how to launch programs from the
Start menu, using two of the programs that are built into the
Windows
®
XP operating system: Paint and Windows
Explorer.

Click Start, then point to All Programs.
The operating system displays a list of program folders.

Point to Accessories, then click Paint.
The operating system opens Paint—a basic drawing
program.
