Adjusting the Parking Brake

2. Ensure the parking brake is disengaged.

Note: The left side brake is being adjusted in the

following steps; the right side adjustment is

performed the same way.

1. Open the push valve (vertical position) on the hydro

unit that you are replacing the brake cable on (Fig.

117).

4. While holding the lever, use the other hand or fingers

to pull the cable threaded end tight through the

swivel. Spin the standard nut against the swivel (Fig.

119).

3. Using hands and fingers only, push the caliper lever

arm forward to engage the brake pads on the wheel

hub until the lever stops (Fig. 118).
