The parking brake latch switch is a normally open proximity switch. The switch is
attached to the handle assembly switch panel (

Figure 83

).

When the parking brake latch is not applied, the latch is positioned near the
target end of the parking brake latch switch so that the switch is closed. The
parking brake latch is moved away from the switch when the latch is applied
causing the switch to be in its normally open state.
