Installing the Baffles and
Chute
Parts needed for this procedure:
1 Bagging cutoff baffle
1
Front baffle
1 Locknut (5/16 inch)
1 Chute
2 Carriage bolt
1 Push nut
1 Hand knob
Procedure
Never operate the mower with the discharge opening
uncovered. Always use a discharge cover, mulch
cover, or bagging chute when operating the mower
deck.
1. Remove the existing baffle from the machine
(
Figure 14 ).

2. Install the new bagging cutoff baffle to the mower
deck at the same location in the mower deck as
the previously removed baffle (
Figure 19 ).
Note:
Use the existing fasteners from that
location to secure the new small baffle to the
mower deck.

3. Rotate the bagging cutoff baffle to contact the
rear edge of the deck (
Figure 16 ).

4. Install the carriage bolt and push nut onto the
front baffle as shown in
Figure 17 .

5. Install the front baffle to the front of the mower
deck using a nut (5/16 inch) and a carriage bolt
as shown in
Figure 19 .
