The traction unit has grease fittings that must be
lubricated regularly with No. 2 General Purpose
Lithium Base Grease. If machine is operated under
normal conditions, lubricate all bearings and bushings
after every 50 hours of operation or whenever water is
used to clean machine. Bearings and bushings must
be lubricated daily when operating conditions are
extremely dusty and dirty. Dusty and dirty operating
conditions could cause dirt to get into the bearings and
bushings, resulting in accelerated wear.
Apply a liberal coating of grease to the check valve pins
once each year (Fig. 20). The traction unit has bearings
and bushings that must be lubricated, and these
lubrication points are: PTO universal shaft (Fig. 21); lift
arm pivot bushings (Fig. 22), front PTO bearing
(Fig. 22); brake pivot bushings (Fig. 23); rear wheel
spindle bushings (Fig. 24); steering plate bushings
(Fig. 25); axle pin bushing (Fig. 25) PTO tension pivot
(Fig. 26) and rear PTO bearing (Fig. 26). Also apply
grease to both brake cables at the drive wheel and
brake pedal ends (Fig. 23).
Wipe grease fitting clean so foreign matter cannot
be forced into the bearing or bushing.
Pump grease into the bearing or bushing.
Wipe up excess grease.
