Procedures
Before opening any of the covers, stop the engine,
remove the key, and allow the engine to cool.
Removing the Cover Plate
1. Lower the boom, stop the engine, and remove the
key.
2. Loosen the bolt at the rear of the cover plate.
3. Remove the three bolts securing the cover plate to
the frame (Figure 25).

4. Pull up on the rear of the cover plate until it clears
the engine and then pull it off of the machine.
Installing the Cover Plate
1. Lower the boom, stop the engine, and remove the
key.
2. Slide the cover plate into place and secure it with the
three bolts you removed previously (Figure 25).
Removing the Bottom Shield
1. Lower the boom, stop the engine, and remove the
key.
2. Remove the two bolts securing the bottom shield
(Figure 26).

3. Pull the shield back and out of the machine.
Installing the Bottom Shield
1. Lower the boom, stop the engine, and remove the
key.
2. Slide the bottom shield into the machine so that it
rests on all 4 tabs (Figure 26).
Note:
You may need to lift up on the bottom shield
to ensure that it rests on the front tabs.
3. Secure the shield with the bolts you removed
previously.
