c) Operating the grass trimmer
• Always turn off the appliance and remove the rechargeable battery before transporting the appliance.
• Never reach into the cutting area during operation. Risk of injury! The trimmer line continues to run for a
short time after being turned off.
• Never try to remove clippings from the cutting area or hold material to be trimmed during operation.
Remove jammed clippings only when the appliance is turned off and disconnected from the power
source. Ignoring these instructions may lead to severe injuries.
• Always hold the grass trimmer by the grip surfaces.
• Prevent unintentional switching on of the tool. Always make sure that the on/off switch is switched off
when you store, pick up or carry the appliance and before you plug in or unplug the mains plug. Do
not carry the tool with your finger on the on/off switch. Never switch off safety devices or operate the
appliance with a faulty, missing or unmounted safety device.
• Do not hold or carry the appliance by these safety devices.
• Do not cut any wet material with the appliance.
• Check the on/off switch before each use. Using the tool with a damaged on/off switch hinders control of
the tool and is therefore very dangerous.
• Never turn on the appliance if there are foreign objects in the cutting area.
• Do not overload electrical appliances. Only use electrical appliances for their intended purposes. A
suitable tool does the job better and, more importantly, more safely.
