Maintenance and cleaning
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for inserting or replacing
the batteries as described in these operating instructions). Servicing or repair may only be carried out by a
specialist.
Turn off the product before cleaning so that the laser lines do not light up.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these can cause discol-
ouration. To prevent scratch marks, do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
a) General
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Remove any inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries and dispose of them separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used/rechargeable batteries;
disposal in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol
to indicate that disposal in domestic waste is prohibited. The designations for the heavy metals
involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries and coin cells can be returned to collection points in your municipality,
our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries/coin cells are sold.
You will thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Inserting/replacing the batteries
A

• Slide the battery compartment cover on the underside of the cross-line laser to the outside (A) and then
fold it carefully on (B).
• Insert two AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity (C). The positive pole is marked on the batteries
and the battery compartment correspondingly.
• Fold the battery compartment cover to (D) and slide it into the device (E) so that it clicks.
• A battery replacement is required when the light is faint or does not go on at all.
Operation
a) Using the tripod
The cross-line laser can be for e.g. fastened to the tripod included in the delivery via the tripod socket (5)
on the underside.
The height of the tripod can be adjusted. Align the mounting plate of the tripod horizontally with the built-in
level.
b) Using the automatic levelling system
• Place the cross-line laser on a horizontal and stable surface or mount it on a tripod.
• Move the sliding switch (1) to the position “ON”.
• When the cross-laser is situated within the self-levelling range of ±4° to the horizontal, both of the laser
lines will be activated.
Outside the self-levelling range, a red LED under both buttons “H” and “V” lights up and the laser
lines will be automatically deactivated.
• The levelling process is finished when the laser lines no longer moves. You can now, for example, mark a
horizontal and/or a vertical line on the wall in order to lay tiles, etc.
Press the button “H” (2) to switch the horizontal laser line on or off.
Press the button “V” (3) to switch the vertical laser line on or off.
• To end the operation, slide the slide switch (1) to the position “OFF”. The lasers will be deactivated and
additionally the mechanics of the automatic levelling system inside the cross-line laser will be fixed. The
cross-line laser is now switched off.
c) Operation without the automatic levelling system
This can be used for example to project a diagonal line on the wall in order to mark the positions
of several pictures on the wall.
You can hold the cross-line laser in the hand or use the supplied tripod to fix the cross-line laser
in a diagonally inclined position.
• Move the sliding switch (1) to the position “OFF“. The mechanics of the automatic levelling system inside
the cross-line laser will be fixed.
• To switch the horizontal laser on or off, press and hold the button “H” (2) for about 1,5 seconds.
• To switch the vertical laser on or off, press and hold the button “V” (3) for about 1,5 seconds.
Important!
When the automatic levelling system is switched off, the laser lines do not mark any horizontal
or vertical line because the mechanics inside the cross-line laser cannot move freely and align
itself!
If horizontal or vertical lines are to be marked, always use the automatic levelling system!
