•
Check the product for any damage before putting
it into operation. Do not operate the product, if you
find any damage.
•
Ambient temperatures at the installation site,
should not fall around or below the freezing point
(<0 °C). This will cause the water to freeze; ice

product above freezing point in a dry place during
wintertime.

b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
•
Operation with rechargeable batteries is possible.
However, the operating time is reduced owing to
the lower voltage (battery = 1.5V, rechargeable
battery = 1.2V). Therefore, we recommend operat
-
ing the product only with high-quality alkaline bat
-
teries to ensure long and reliable operation.
•
Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the
reach of children.
•
Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying
around; they could be swallowed by children or
pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately,
it could be fatal!
•
Check that the polarity is correct when inserting
the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention
to plus/+ and minus/- signs).
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries
are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into a
fire. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batter-
ies; they may explode! Only charge rechargeable
batteries; use a suitable battery charger.
•
Old or flat batteries can leak liquid chemicals that
may damage the device. If not used for a longer
period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the in
-
serted batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries can cause acid burns if they come into con
-
tact with the skin; therefore, wear suitable protec
-
tive gloves.
•
Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batter
-
ies are very chemically aggressive. Objects or sur
-
faces coming into contact with these liquids may
be severely damaged. Therefore, keep batteries/
rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
•
Always replace the complete set of batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Do not mix batteries/re
-
chargeable batteries with different charges (flat
and half-discharged batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries).
•
Use either batteries or rechargeable batteries;
never mix standard batteries with rechargeable
batteries. Use only batteries/rechargeable batter
-
ies of the same model and type and from the same
manufacturer.
•
For the correct disposal of batteries, please read
the chapter “Disposal”.
