g) Using the levelling system
The angle gauge can be used as a conventional spirit level with both of the levels that are placed on the
sides. With the horizontal level you can align a surface or edge horizontally. With the vertical level, a surface
or edge can be aligned vertically.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for inserting or replacing
the batteries as described in these operating instructions). Servicing or repair may only be carried out by a
specialist.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these can cause dis-
colouration. To prevent scratch marks or damage, do not press too strongly on the surface and the display
when cleaning.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
a) General
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Remove any inserted battery (or rechargeable battery) and dispose of it separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries and rechargeable
batteries; it is not permitted to dispose of batteries with normal household waste.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labelled with this symbol to indicate that disposal
in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd =
Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries and coin cells can be returned to collection points in your municipality,
our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries/coin cells are sold. You thereby fulfil your statutory
obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Inserting batteries, changing batteries
• Remove the screw at the back of the display and open the battery compartment by taking off the battery
compartment cover.
• Insert the batteries into the battery compartment carefully, observing the correct polarity (see the markings
in the battery compartment).
• Place the battery compartment lid back in the correct direction and secure it with the screw that is removed
at the beginning.
• It is necessary to change the batteries when the display contrast decreases sharply, when the display turns
off by itself immediately after turning on, or when the charging status indicator on the display (7) shows
only the outline of the battery. The charging indicator as depicted in the picture indicates full batteries.
Operation
a) Switching on/off
Briefly press the “ON/OFF” button (1) to turn on or turn off the spirit level. After being turned on, the spirit level
is in the normal mode (angle measurement). If the spirit level is flat, “Err” will appear on the display, indicating
that no measurement can be conducted in this position. The measurement range is from 0° to 90°. For an
overhead measurement, the display indicator rotates automatically by 180°. The angle gauge switches off
automatically after approx. 3 minutes if no buttons are pressed or there is no measurement to save energy.
b) “Audio” button
With the “Audio” button (2), you can activate by pressing it briefly a beeper that sends you an acoustic signal
when reaching the angle 0°, 45° or 90° (+/- 0.5°). The function is activated when the symbol for the beeper
(11) lights up in the display. The function is deactivated by pressing the button again.
c) “Reference” button
When the device is not in balance, a value deviating from zero will be shown on the display. Press the “REF”
button (3) to set the current angle as equal to zero and to start the mode for relative angle. The symbol “S”
(8) will appear in the display and the angle value in the display will be reset to zero. Press the “REF” button
(3) again after measuring to leave the mode.
d) “Hold” button
Press the “Hold” button (4) to freeze the current measurement value. The symbol “H” (9) will appear in the
display. Press the “Hold” button (4) again to leave the mode.
e) “UNIT” button
Immediately after the spirit level is turned on, the device always shows the gradient angle (relative to 1 metre)
in the measurement unit Degree (°). The triangle symbol of the angle indicator (12) shows whether the angle,
measured in the vertical or horizontal position, is rising or falling.
By pressing the “UNIT” button (5), you can switch from the measurement unit Degree (°) to Percent (%) or
the height relative to one metre in the unit “mm/m” or “inch/ft” (in this case the gradient is in relation to the
measurement unit ft = foot).
Example: For a gradient of 30°, after pressing the “UNIT” button, the display will show 57.72% gradient or
577 mm height relative to one metre or a height of 6 7/8 inch (relative to 1 foot = 304.8 mm).
An indication in the measurement unit “inch/ft” of for e.g., “6 7/8 inch/ft” means the height relative to one foot
(ft = 304.8 mm) is 6 inch (= 152.4 mm) + 7/8 inch (= 22,23 mm) = 174.63 mm. Minor deviations for the
indicator “inch/ft” are systemic due to the display options of the display and the measurement value logging
(rounding errors) and thus pure mathematically possible. Therefore in the display in the display variant above
the measurement unit “inch/ft” for each measurement value, a “+” or a “-” is shown additionally. When for
e.g., a “+” is shown, the displayed value (for e.g., 6 7/8 inch) is about “1/16 inch” higher in reality than what
is shown in the display.
f) “CAL” button
Switch on the device and set it on a smooth and flat surface. The display is now towards you. Press and
hold the “CAL” button (6) until the symbol “CAL1” appears on the display. You are now in the calibration
mode. Leave the device to stand still for a few minutes. Rotate the device on the spot by 180°(the display
is now away from you). Press and hold the “CAL” button (6) until the symbol “CAL2” appears on the display.
When the indicator “CAL2” is off after flashing three times, the calibration is completed and the current value
is shown on the display.
The calibration must be done on a flat surface in a place with a less than 5° up or down gradi-
ent. If the value exceeds 5°, the error message “Err” (Error) appears and the calibration cannot
be performed. The device must be switched on again to initiate a new calibration. During the
calibration, neither the device nor the platform can be moved.
