Users of the automatic toll collection system are obliged to operate the On-Board Units correctly in accordance with
Clause 32 of the General Standard Terms and Conditions of Toll Collect GmbH. In particular, they are obliged to ensure
that the On-Board Unit is ready for use and that the details concerning the vehicle status are correct before using toll
roads. Toll Collect GmbH hereby informs users that the On-Board Unit records timestamped information concerning the
simultaneous starting of the On-Board Unit with the truck as well as all changes to the settings made by the driver on the
On-Board Unit and errors with regard to the readiness of the On-Board Unit for toll collection.
As part of their toll enforcement activities, officials from the Federal Office for Goods Transport can request this informa-
tion from each On-Board Unit and carry out a timestamped check to determine whether a user is fulfilling his obligations.
Version 3.7. B C DG
Note on information and display of the toll-liable tonnage limit in this version of
the User Manual
In accordance with the announcement made by the German Federal Ministry of Transport
and Digital Infrastructure, a reduction of the toll requirements from a gross vehicle weight
of at least 7.5 tonnes upwards is planned as of 1 October 2015.
In order for the User Manual to retain its validity beyond October 2015, reference has
consequently already been made to the new lower weight limit during inclusion of the
vehicle data in this document (pages 8 and 14).
Until the binding introduction of the tonnage reduction, the currently valid tonnage limit
of 12 tonnes will continue to be displayed in the menu of the On-Board Unit.
Up-to-date user information on the current status of the tonnage reduction is available on-
line at www.toll-collect.de.
