- The regulator can be fitted to any cylinders equipped with automatic valves having a diameter as indicated
on the regulator.
- The gas cylinder
must always be used in the upright position
- Whenever used outdoor, the regulator must be suitably protected against rain.
- Never use a flame to look for leaks, do it using a soap solution.
- In case of any difficulties or problems, close the gas supply and contact your dealer immediately.
Fitting the hose
Before connecting the regulator to a cylinder valve, take care to fit
an approved rubber hose
to the barbed stem (lubricate the latter with water to facilitate the insertion).
To guarantee a sound connection, use
an
approved hose clip
which is usually sold together with the
hose and is in any case adapted to the hose dimensions.
Assembly on the gas cylinder
Make sure that:
- all taps on the consuming appliance are closed.
- the connecting pipe to the appliance is correctly fitted.
- the regulator handle is in the closed position.
Remove the seal cap on the automatic valve, place the regulator onto the valve and push down
firmly and vertically. You will hear a "click" sound which means the regulator is securely latched
.
Note: The regulator is so designed as to prevent it from being fitted to the valve, unless the
regulator handle is in the closed position; therefore, never attempt to mount or to dismount it, if the
handle is not in this position.
Operation
Once the regulator is correctly mounted on the valve, gas supply is possible by turning the regulator handle
upwards (anticlockwise). To shut off the gas supply, reverse the above procedure.
Caution: If you are unable to open the regulator handle, this means that your regulator is not
correctly connected to the valve. Do not force the handle to open, instead start again the operations
described above in 3.
Replacement of a cylinder
Make sure that:
- all taps on the consuming appliance are in the closed position.
- the regulator handle is in the closed position.
Then, dismount the regulator by pressing horizontally on the handle and pulling upwards at the same time.
Do not attempt to carry out this operation with the regulator handle in the open position.
The regulator can be equipped with a safety device designed to automatically limit the gas escape in case
of separation or rupture of the pipe supplying gas to the consuming appliance. The marking "flow limiting
device" on the identification label means that the regulator is equipped with this option.
Operation of Flow Limiting Device (if provided)
The Flow Limiting Device is likely to activate under the following conditions:
- Normal operating conditions.
- Consumption of the gas fired appliance is higher than the regulator flow capacity. In such case, contact
your installer.
- In case of pipe being torn off, proceed as follows:
- Close the regulator handle,
- Re-fit the hose correctly,
- open the regulator handle,
- Wait a few seconds (20 seconds) before restarting the system.
To guarantee a proper operation of the flow limiting device, the pipe supplying gas to the
consuming appliance shall be no more than 40 cm in length.
