STEP 4
Plug in the pump using the power cord,
taking extra care while doing this.
STEP 5
To start the pump, press the ON button
on the control panel. The pressure relief
mattress will then start to inflate.
THE PRESSURE SHOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE USER’S
INDIVIDUAL NEEDS DETERMINED BY HIS/HER GENERAL
CONDITION AND COMPLAINTS ASSOCIATED WITH THEIR
CONDITION. TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION YOU SHOULD
CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR.
THE AIR PUMP OPERATES BY ALTERNATELY PUMPING
AIR TO MATTRESS AIR CELLS AND FOR THIS REASON
NEEDS TO BE ON ALL THE TIME. THE OFF BUTTON ON THE
CONTROL PANEL IS ONLY FOR TURNING OFF THE PUMP
WHEN THE MATTRESS IS NOT IN USE. BEFORE USING THE
MATTRESS AGAIN, THE STARTING PROCEDURE MUST BE
PERFORMED (SEE STEPS 6 AND 7).

MATTRESS BEFORE USE.
STEP 6
Set the pressure dial at the maximum
value. The preparation time (the first
inflation) prior to use takes 24 minutes
(two full cycles).
STEP 7
Following complete inflation, the pres-
sure dial should be set at a value ap-
propriate to the patient’s weight. The
pressure relief mattress with air pump
will then be ready to use.
MATTRESS OPERATION PHASES:
The mattress is equipped with
an
innovative system of 3 groups of
cells, A/B/C
- 6 cells in each group.
During the operating cycle, 2 groups
of cells are infl ated which means
that 12 out of 18 cells are infl ated
with air during the mattress cycle.
In comparison, in a standard tube
mattress (A/B) only 9 out of 18 cells
are infl ated in a given cycle.
The diagram below shows the
weight distribution on the mattress
chambers of an 80 kg patient.
