Note:
With the DSP 5 you can perform secure tests
above the nominal voltage range (exceeds the limit
values in accordance with IEC 61243-3)
up to 1200 V AC / 1500 V DC. The measurment value
is indicated by flashing in the display.
The additional load may only be operated up to
the nominal voltage range marked on the back of
the DSP.
Impermissible voltages above 1200 V AC / 1500 V DC
“OL” in the display and an acoustic alarm warn
against voltages exceeding 1200 V AC / 1500 V DC.
In this case, the test procedure must be stopped
immediately!
4.3 Frequency test
In the upper display line the grid frequency can be
displayed in Hz at the same time. For direct voltage,
„dc“ is signaled.
The frequency display can be used as required,
on or off. Press and hold the button
on the
switched on device until the „FrEq“ and „on“ / „off“
display appears.
4.4
Function ”hold” measurement values (HOLD)
You can freeze the displayed value.
While pressing button
-Hold the measured value
will be “hold“ on the display for approx. 30 seconds
or until the button
-Hold is pressed again.
4.5 Load test (not for DSP 5B)
By pressing both rear push-buttons a low resistance
is activated.
The additional load is indicated by „Load“ on the
display.
Load is depending on voltage and time. For safety
reasons it reduces automatically. At 230 V and 20°C
ambient temperature, load is 40 mA for 10 seconds.
Afterwards, the additional load becomes highly
resistive.
After 30 s cool-down, the additional load is ready
again.
The load test is only permissible in the nominal
voltage range!
For voltages> 1000 V AC / 1200 V DC you will get a
warning „Load“ / „- OL -“ in the upper display line.
4.5.1 RCD quick test
With the additional load RCDs (residual current-
operated protective device) up to 30 mA at 230 V can
be activated:
- Test the voltage between phase and protective
conductor (ground). The tester shows 230 V.
- Press both rear push-buttons
- The RCD will be activated and 0 V is indicated on the
display.
