CHAPTER 8: AXLE PLATES AND CAMBER PLUGS

(CENTER OF GRAVITY; REAR SEAT HEIGHT)

7. Repeat Steps 3 to 6 with the camber mount clamp on the opposite side of the chair. Make sure the second

camber mount clamp is mounted in exactly the same location on the opposite side of the frame.

8.   Reinstall the camber tube.
9.   Reinstall the rear wheels.
10.  Check the toe-in/toe-out and adjust as needed and square the front casters as needed.

Note: If the preceding procedure does not permit you to achieve your desired rear set height, consider utilizing one of

the other configurations shown in Figure 8-1. For example, if your chair was delivered in the configuration shown in

Figure 8-1A but you want the rear seat height lower while maintaining the same center of gravity, then switch the left

and right camber mount clamps so as to achieve the configuration shown in Figure 8-1C.

Replacing the Camber Tube

Tools Needed:

• 3/16” Allen Wrench

• Ruler

1. Remove the rear wheels.
2. Loosen, but do not remove, the two Allen Screws that secure the camber tube inside each camber mount clamp.

See Figure 8-5.

3. Remove the camber tube.
4. Install the new camber tube, making sure the distance from the outside edge of the camber mount clamp to the

end of the camber tube is identical on each side of the chair.

5.  Securely tighten both Allen Screws on each camber mount clamp.
6.  Reinstall the rear wheels.
7.  Check the toe-in/toe-out and adjust as needed.

Note: When installing a new camber tube, make sure

that the flat side of the camber plugs at both ends of the

camber tube are perpendicular to the floor. Also, for

camber tubes other than 0 degrees, make sure that the
camber tube is properly oriented so that the rear wheels
are wider apart at the ground than at the top.
