Symptom:
When using an external shunt the current reading is wrong
Possible Causes:
•
The external shunt has not been configured properly. Two values in the configuration page
need to be changed: “Range” and “Current Shunt Resistance”. The range should be
“Bidirectional”, and the value immediately higher than the rated shunt voltage drop. F
or
example for a 75mV shunt, /- 80mV. The Shunt resistance has to be calculated based
on the shunt used.

Resistance(mOhm) = Voltage(mV) divided by current(A)
•
The 500A shunts sold by Thornwave Labs are 0.15mOhms in value.
