2. Output: High level is 3.3 V; the maximum source current is 10 mA per pin.
3. Alt function:
a. I/O 0: CHx disable AN OUT (Input) : Internally pulled up to high level by resistor to 3.3 V. Connect
the pin to ground to activate the function. This function disables the analog outputs when set to low
level. If the input is left open, the analog output works normally.
b. I/O 1: CHx Pass/Fail test (Output) : High level 3.3 V. Maximum current is 10 mA per pin. This func-
tion can be used for pass/fail testing. The high and low limits can be entered in two input fields. The
output turns low, when the measured power level is within the pass/fail window. A range for the
pass/fail test can be set by the user.
4. I/O 2: Choose between Shutter monitoring and Shutter control. Shutter control allows to connect an
external shutter to I/O2, provided the Interlock is closed.
5. I/O 3: Choose between Logging Monitoring and Logging Control.
Logging monitor: An output signal gives information on when logging is started on the PM5020 (signal
above 3.3 V) or stopped (below 3.3 V).
Logging control: A high incoming signal (2.4 V - 5 V) to the PM5020 triggers logging and stops it
whenever the signal is low.
4.6 BNC I/O and TTL port
The front BNC Auxiliary In/Output can be configured as input, output or alternative function with addi-
tional functionality like logging and shutter control or monitor via the settings menu on the touch screen.
Select the icon to configure the port.
The following screen appears with the Auxiliary output port configuration panel on the bottom. The screen
also shows the Digital I/O configuration above.
Settings for the AUX I/O port can be selected as follows:
Input: The input is set to default low level by an internal pull-down resistor. Set input to high level by ap-
plying a voltage between 2.4 V and 5 V. Note Do not exceed the maximum input voltage of 5 V.
