Section 2 — Control Panels
The Preview subpanel also works with the Local Aux panel, which pro-
vides a selection mechanism for viewing sources and program outputs of
the M/Es on the switched preview output. Note that the switched preview
will automatically show the appropriate signal during Hold to Preview,
Show Key, Color Pick and Auto Key Setup operations, replacing whatever
signal may have been selected for previewing.
Only one button can be selected at a time on this subpanel. The currently
selected button will be high tally.
Preview Signal Selection
Selecting one of the
M/E 1-3
buttons or the
Pgm Pst
button will send the
preview (not program) output signal of that M/E to the Kalypso system’s
switched preview output.
The
Still Store
button is active if the Still Store option is installed. Selecting
Still Store
on the Preview subpanel will display Still Store output 8 on
switched preview.
The
Alt PVW
button acts as a shift button for the above buttons. When
M/E 1-3
or
Pgm Pst
is selected, holding down the
Alt PVW
button selects the second
preview output of that M/E. This second output is switchable to display
outputs B, C, or D of that M/E, with B as the default. When the
Still Store
button is selected, holding down
Alt PVW
displays the cut signal of the
selected Still Store output on switched preview (if that Still Store output has
been setup as a video/key pair).
Primary Signal Selection
The
PVW Pri
button in the Preview subpanel operates in conjunction with
the Local Aux panel. Pressing this button routes the currently chosen
primary preview source (selected on the Local Aux panel) to the Kalypso
system switched preview output. The separate
PVW Pri
button on the Local
Aux bus can be used to change the displayed primary source. See Bus Del-
egation on page 141 for related information.
Local Aux Panel
The Local Aux panel provides control of the Kalypso System Aux buses,
Still Store source selection, and switched preview source selection. Up to 13
aux buses (or video/key aux bus pairs) can be delegated for control by this
panel. The Local Aux panel has two complete source selection buses, each
equipped with bus delegation and source select modifier buttons. Source
name displays identify the sources for each selection button, and Aux Bus
Status displays show the currently selected source on every controllable
aux bus (
