Possible Cause

Electrode(s) and burner are wet.

Electrode(s) cracked or broken
"sparks at crack"

Wire(s) is loose or disconnected.

Wire is shorting (sparking)
between ignitor and electrode.
Bad ignitor.

No gas flow.

Obstruction of gas flow.

Does Regulator/valve cap stay
down.
Disengagement of burner to
valve.

Prevention/Cure

Wipe dry with cloth.

Replace electrode(s).

Reconnect wires or replace
electrode/wire assembly.

Replace ignitor wire/electrode
assembly.

Check to see if LP tank is empty.

Clear burner tubes.

Replace with Thermos parts.

Check steps in assembly
instructions.
