5.2.6 Automated Fraction Collection with Chromeleon
The Fraction Collection driver in Chromeleon facilitates the process of collecting fractions.
Before you start, verify that this driver is installed in the same timebase as the AFC-3000
( → page 40).
With automated control, you create a program file (PGM) for automated operation of the
fraction collector. The Program Wizard assists you in creating a program for fraction
collection control.
On the File menu, select New , and then select Program File . The wizard guides you through
program creation. On each wizard page, make the desired settings or accept the default values.

Fraction Collection - General Options
Determine whether fractions are collected by peak or by time .
• If you select
Collect by peak using channel
, choose the detection channel from the list.
Select the Collect outside peaks, too check box to collect sample in-between peaks.
• If you select Collect by time , type a time period in the Collection period box.
• Under Collect Time Frame , you can restrict the time for collecting fractions. Click
Collect only from and type or select the start and end times in the boxes.
