Note: If you are attaching both brackets directly to a wall, then you will not need the spacers that are provid-
ed. If you have molding at the bottom, you will likely need spacers to bring the top bracket out from the wall.
You will use spacers to match the thickness of your molding. Extra spacers can be purchased from our online
store.
5. Wrap the top strap of TSB around the banister and latch the buckle. You may use the banister, spindles or
both to attach the straps. In some cases, you may choose to use multiple spindles.

6. Repeat this process for the middle and bottom straps.
7. Tighten all straps so that TSB is taut.
8. When properly installed, the bottom edge of TSB should be flush with the tread, and there should be little
(maximum 1”) to no gaps on the sides.

9. For use at the top of stairs: Install TSB a minimum of 10 inches back from the first tread/step. With all soft
barrier gates there will be some give to the fabric and to ensure there are no entrapments, there must be
ample distance between TSB and first step.

10.If TSB is unlatched to allow access to the staircase, completely roll TSB to the wall side.

not in use, TSB should not block the staircase.

All indoor Stair Barriers are made of Class 1 Upholstery grade fabric. Cleaning code is “S”. To clean, use a soft brush to loosen dirt
and then vacuum TSB with an upholstery attachment. For tougher stains, use a mild, water-free solvent or dry cleaning product. DO
