Duplex Insertion Loss Test – 850/1300
1. At the AutoTest Main Screen, for record
purposes, use the Arrow buttons and
Enter key to identify Cable and Fiber
Names.
Note: The unit that initiates the test
becomes the Local. The other unit
becomes the Remote. The Remote must
be set to this screen when initiating a
test. Once set, no additional keys on the remote need be activated.
2. Press the SETUP softkey.
3. From the Setup screen, use the softkeys to enter the WAVE-
LENGTH you want to perform the test at – 850, 1300 or BOTH.
4. Next, using the softkeys enter NO or YES indicating whether
you want to Autosave the test.
5. Next , using the softkeys, select from the following THRESH
OLD choices –

NO – a Pass/Fail indication will not be provided.
➤
MASK – to select from a previously defined set of standards
stored in the unit (see Pg. 23 for more information)
➤
EDIT – to set/reset thresholds previously selected (see Pg. 24
for more information)
When complete, you will be returned to the AutoTest screen.
6. To begin the AutoTest sequence, press
the AutoTest button on the unit. Leave
Remote unit in the Startup screen.
7. The screen will indicate the connec-
tions to be made – Fiber 001to the
transmitter & Fiber 002 to the receiver.
8. Clean all interfaces and connect the reference cables from each unit
to the Fibers Under Test.
