Loosen hose clamp (2) and remove hose (1).

Remove two screws (4).

7.

Remove thermostat housing (3), gasket, and 
thermostat.

Installation Notes

• Install the thermostat by reversing the order of 

removal.

• Clean gasket surface.

• Use a new gasket during installation.

• Fill the radiator with a 50/50 mixture of good quality 

ethylene glycol-base antifreeze and clean fresh 
water.

Removal and Installation

Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on 
page 1-6.)

Remove the instrument panel. (See “Instrument 
Panel” on page 4-87.)

Remove seal bracket (6).

Loosen screw (5) and move console wall (4) inward 
to allow access to throttle cable and control lever.
