This chapter provides answers to few frequently asked questions related to using this encoder.

5.1

Code Build and Execution

Question

Answer

Application returns an error
saying “Unable to open
Input YUV Sequence File”
while running the host test
application

Ensure that input YUV file path provided is correct in encoder configuration
file. If the application is accessing YUVs from network, ensure that the
network connectivity is stable.

Are there any changes
required for 4kx4k
encoding?

From codec library prospective, No changes required. Make sure that unit test
application capable of providing required memory to codec. For eg: User
needs to change the buffer size reserved for Codec instance creation
i.e"MAX_DDR_SIZE" and sizes for Input/Output buffers need to change in
buffer manager.

Can I encode with bit rate more
than specified in level 4.0?

Yes. Video encoder will return a non-fatal level incompliance error, but still
it continues encoding.

What stream formats are
supported in this version of
encoder?

This version supports byte-stream and NALU format.

What are the input frame
formats supported?

This version supports YUV420 planar input format only.

Can I encode YUV 422 input
format buffer?

No. Only YUV420 planar is supported.
