Dolby Digital
If the disc format is Dolby Digital, select the PCM or
Bitstream output.
1. PCM
Select when connected to a 2-channel digital stereo
amplifier or a TV. The unit’ s digital audio outputs sounds
in the PCM 2ch format when you play a DVD
videodisc recorded on the Dolby Digital recording
system.
2. Bitstream
Select Bitstream if you connected the unit’ s DIGITAL
OUT jack to a Dolby Digital decoder (or an amplifier or
other equipment with a Dolby Digital decoder).
MPEG
If the disc format is MPEG, select the PCM or Bitstream
output.
Dynamic range
With the DVD format, you can hear a program’ s sound-
track in the most accurate and realistic presentation
possible, thanks to digital audio technology. However, you
may wish to compress the dynamic range of the audio
output (the difference between the loudest sounds and
the quietest ones). Then, you may listen to movie at a lower
volume without losing clarity of sound. Set DRC to ON
for this effect.
Equalizer
The Equalizer allows you to adjust the equalizer settings
to the level you prefer.
1. Use the arrow keys to highlight Equalizer.
2. Press the right arrow key. The equalizer screen will
appear as below.

disc re- corded on the MPEG recording system.
2. Bitstream
Select Bitstream if you connected the unit’ s DIGITAL
OUT jack to a MPEG decoder (or an amplifier or other
equipment with an MPEG decoder).
Sampling Freq.
The rate that an analog signal is sampled, expressed in
samples per second or in hertz. DVD digital audio is sampled
at 48KHz, but some DVDs use a higher Sampling
frequency (96KHz).
3. Use the arrow keys to adjust the equalizer settings,
then select SAVE.
4. Press SETUP to exit.
1. If the sampling frequency of your disc is 48KHz, please
select 48KHz; if the sampling frequency of your disc is
96KHz, please select 96KHz.
