Impaq 400
If a problem should occur, please check through
the following advice before contacting our
service staff.
no power
∫ Please check whether the plug is properly in-
serted in the mains socket.
∫ Check whether the corresponding electric cir-
cuit is live.
no playback
∫ Have you inserted a disc? If not, insert a disc.
∫ Is the disc upside down? Please insert the disc
with the label facing upwards.
∫ The disc’s regional code does not match the IP
400 DR player/receiver.
∫ The disc’s format is not supported by the IP
400 DR player/receiver.
∫ The disc is dirty or damaged. Clean the disc or
test the player by inserting another disc. There
may be condensation in the IP 400 DR player/
receiver. Remove the disc and leave the IP 400
DR player/receiver switched on for one to two
hours.
no picture
∫ Check if the television is switched on. Switch
the TV’s remote control to the A/V input for
DVD playback and not, for example, to HDMI.
∫ Check whether the system cabling is faultless
and whether all of the plugs are securely con-
nected.
∫ Check to see if any connection cable is defec-
tive.
∫ Clean the disc.
Excessive screen noise or distorted image
∫ The disc may be dirty or damaged. Clean the
disc or insert another disc.
∫ Reset the colour system on the IP 400 DR play-
er/receiver or television.
∫ Attach the IP 400 DR player/receiver directly to
the television instead of via other components
(such as a video recorder).
∫ Select another screen format from the SETUP
menu on the IP 400 DR player/receiver. To do
this, read the section “SETUP menu” in these
operating instructions.
∫ Select the screen format from the VIDEO
menu.
If CORRECTInG DISC ERROR is displayed in the
top, left-hand corner of the screen
∫ the disc may be dirty or damaged.
Clean the disc or test the player by inserting
another disc.
Malfunctions
∫ If the IP 400 DR player/receiver malfunctions,
disconnect the device from the power supply
for at least 30 minutes. Then switch the IP 400
DR player/receiver on again. The internal re-
store function should reset the appliance.
no sound or poor sound output
∫ You may have inserted a DTS disc. Press the AU-
DIO button on the remote control and then se-
lect the correct audio setting using the remote
control.
∫ Check whether the television and amplifier are
switched on and set to the correct programme
source.
∫ Check the cable connection between the TV,
IP 400 DR player/receiver and any amplifier/
receiver.
∫ Press the AUDIO button to select a different
track on the disc.
∫ Check whether the MUTE function has been ac-
tivated on the amplifier or television.
∫ No sound is produced in the PAUSE, STEP, SLOW
and SEARCH modes.
SKIP and SEARCH do not function
∫ Some discs are programmed so as to not give
the user the option of SKIP and SEARCH func-
tions at certain locations. This is frequently
the case for preset warning messages.
∫ It is not possible to use the SKIP function with
discs that only have one chapter.
no surround sound playback
If you are using the digital output:
∫ Press the SETUP key
∫ Select AUDIO
∫ Then select DIGITAL OUT
∫ Select the BITSTREAM setting
∫ Press the SETUP key again
