System connection, alternatives
Before starting to use the IP 400 DR
∫ Always switch off the IP 400 DR, the television
and all other connected components before
changing the cabling.
∫ If you have connected the appliance to an ex-
ternal audio system, switch this device on after
completing the cable set-up and select the ap-
propriate audio input.

components, read the operating instructions for
these products.
Connection to an audio system
You connect the dig-
ital output of the IP
400 DR DVD receiver
(optical or coaxial) to
the digital input of an
audio system. This al-
lows you to use the IP
400 DR as a conven-
tional DVD player with
5.1 sound output.
You connect the
downmix stereo
outputs on the IP 400
DR to the inputs on a
two-channel amplifier.

Information
DVD audio media provide only
two audio channels via the digi-
tal audio outputs. Multichannel
DVD audio media are outputted
via the analogue outputs.

Depending on the room’s
acoustic qualities, it may be
appropriate to exchange the
plus and minus poles (only when
connecting the subwoofer). If
you plan to do this, please read
the set-up advice on page 7.
