Operation
The fuse locator Testboy
®
TB 30 is an instrument set for the location of circuit breakers for cor-
responding sockets in the respective circuit.
It consists of two units: The transmitter and the receiver.
The receiver can also be used as a contact-free voltage testing device.
Use
Connect the transmitter (A) to the socket.
Illumination of the green LEDs (1) indicate that volt-
age is present on the socket. The chart on the trans-
mitter (A) shows what the LEDs are indicating. With
the installed pushbutton (2) the circuit breaker can
be tripped.
Use the sensitivity regulator (3) to switch on the re-
ceiver (B).
The red standby LED (4) must illuminate, otherwise
replace the 9 V block battery (5).
Search mode
Bring the receiver close to the transmitter (on standby) to check its function. When the trans-
mitter signal is received the standby LED (4) flashes and the buzzer sounds.
Working in the fuse box, locate the appendant circuit breaker by setting the sensitivity to maxi-
mum and leading the tip of the receiver along the automatic circuit breakers.
Reducing the sensitivity and leading the receiver vertically and horizontally along enable highly
exact localization of the corresponding circuit breaker (fuse).
If you are convinced that you have found the fuse for which you are looking, switch it off. If acti-
vated, the buzzer and the LED (1) of the transmitter (A) end within a second if the socket is
voltage-free.
You can be sure that you have found the appendant fuse.
Test mode
In test mode A you can check if the wiring of the socket is correct. You connect the transmitter
to the socket and the LEDs (1) will show a pattern. If the pattern is compared to the chart
shown on the transmitter (A) a correct wiring can be checked immidiatly. The LED patterns
