Operating Procedures
Set multimeter to Volts. Place the black lead
of the mul ti meter on one of 24 Vdc Output
Receptacle screws as shown in Figures 3.8.6 and
3.8.7. Next, touch the red lead of the multimeter
to the negative pin of the 24 Vdc Output Con-
nector (see Figure 3.8.6). Do the same for the
positive pin (see Figure 3.8.7). In both cases the
meter should read open circuit.

5. Checking DC Voltage at the 12 Vdc Output Connector Pins.
Set your digital multimeter to measure dc voltage. Place the positive probe
(red) of the multimeter on the positive post of the DC Output Connector (mark
with the + symbol) as shown in Figure 3.8.8. Next, place the negative probe
(black) on the negative post of the DC Output Connector (mark with the ─
symbol). The multimeter display should read approximately 13.5 Vdc (± 0.5
Vdc) with power cells fully charged.
6. Checking DC Voltage at the 24 Vdc Output Connector Pins
Before making a voltage measurement, make sure the 24 Vdc Output Control
Breaker is pushed in. Place the positive probe (red) of the multimeter on the
lower-left pin of the 24 Vdc Output Connector as shown in Figure 3.8.9. Next,
place the negative probe (black) on the lower-right pin of the 24 Vdc Output
Connector. The multimeter display should read approximately 28 Vdc (± 0.5 Vdc)
with power cells fully charged.

Set multimeter to Volts. Place the black lead
of the multi meter on one of 12 Vdc Output
Connector screws as shown in Figures 3.8.4
and 3.8.5. Next, touch the red lead of the
multimeter to the positive pin of the 12 Vdc
Output Con nector (shown in Figure 3.8.4).
Do the same for the negative pin (see Figure
3.8.5). In both cases the meter should read
open circuit.

on DC Output Connector
