 Instructions for use

Safety instructions

Toaster PRESIDENT is intended for domestic use and may only be used indoors for toasting
bread slices.
The appliance may only be connected to a power supply with alternating current via a correctly
installed socket with earthing.
Keep children under 8 years of age away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not
allow them to use the appliance. The appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use of the
appliance and understand the hazards involved. The appliance is not intended to be operated
by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
Do not place the appliance on a hot surface. Do not operate the appliance under or near cur-
tains or other fl ammable materials or under wall cabinets. Do not place anything on top of the
toaster when the toaster is switched on or when it is still hot. Do not let the power cord hang
over the edge of the table or countertop, keep the cord away from hot surfaces.
Do not touch any parts other than the operating controls as the toaster can become hot during
toasting. Press down the push-down lever only for toasting; never block it in this position.
Do not touch any part of the toaster with sharp or metal utensils, especially inside the bread
toasting slots – risk of electric shock.
Do not insert oversized foods and bread slices wrapped in metal foil into the toaster. Do not use
near water, sinks and any containers with water.

Never let the appliance operate unattended!

Press the OFF button and then remove the plug from the electric socket to disconnect the appli-
ance from power. If a slice of bread gets stuck inside the toaster, disconnect the appliance from
power and let it cool down before you try to remove the bread; do not use a knife or a sharp tool
as these may cause damage to the heating elements.
To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug or any part of the toaster
in water or other liquid.
Do not repair a faulty toaster yourself; instead contact a TESCOMA service centre; for contact
details, see www.tescoma.com.
