TROUBLESHOOTING
The waffles split when the
lid is open, sticking to the
top and bottom plates.
The cooking time is too short.
When cooked for the correct
time, the waffles will remain
whole and release easily
from the cooking plates.
The waffles burn
The cooking time is too long.
Experiment with shorter
cooking times to get a better
result.
SOME WAFFLE RECIPES
Breakfast Waffles
3 eggs
375ml milk
250 g flour
2 teaspoons (10 ml) baking powder
6 teaspoons (30 ml) sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
8 tablespoons (120 ml) oil
Separate the egg yolks and whites. Mix the egg yolks and milk
in a bowl. Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and mix
well. Stir in the oil. Beat the egg whites until stiff and then fold
into the batter.
Sponge Waffles
5 eggs
5 tablespoons (75 ml) hot water
100 g sugar
grated rind of one lemon
150 g flour
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) baking powder
Cream the egg yolks, water, sugar and lemon rind. Mix the
flour and baking powder together and stir them into the other
ingredients.
Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
