OPERATION
Preparing waffle mixture:
Before heating the waffle maker, prepare your waffle mixture.
You can either buy this pre-mixed or make a mixture from a
recipe.
Preheating the waffle maker:
WARNING:- During use the cooking plates get very hot, and
should be treated with extreme caution.
ONLY USE THE HANDLE WHEN OPENING THE APPLIANCE AND
USE OVEN GLOVES IF YOU NEED TO MOVE IT.
This operation must be performed before you begin the cooking
process.
Close the lid of the appliance.
•
Plug the appliance into a wall electrical socket. Switch the
•
mains power “ON’ at the socket.
The red power light will come on.
After a few minutes, the correct operating temperature will be
reached and the green “Ready” light will come on. The appliance
is now ready for use.
CAUTION: Whenever the appliance is connected to a live mains
outlet it will be powered and the cooking surfaces will be hot.
Using the appliance:
During operation, the “Ready” light will go ‘ON’ and ‘OFF’. This
indicates that the unit is functioning correctly.
Pour or spoon the prepared waffle mixture over the lower
•
cooking plate. The plate should be evenly covered.
CAUTION: Do not over-fill the plate.
Close the lid of the appliance. Do not use the catch to hold
•
the lid closed, this is for storage only.
Start a kitchen timer to time the cooking process. A time
•
of 2 minutes is recommended initially, but with experi-
ence you can vary this to get the results you want. Cook
longer for crispier waffles, reduce the time a little for
softer waffles. Resist the temptation to look at the waffles
until the cooking time is up.
CAUTION: During cooking steam may be released from between
the plates. This is normal. Keep your hands away from the
steam.
Once the cooking time is complete, open the lid slowly.
•
The top plate should separate from the waffles, leaving
the waffles on the bottom plate.
Using a heat-proof plastic or wooden spatula, lift the
•
waffles from the lower plate.
NEVER USE A SHARP OBJECT SUCH AS A KNIFE OR STEEL SPATULA.
THIS WILL DAMAGE THE NON-STICK COATING.
If you are cooking more waffles, close the lid to preserve the
heat until you are ready to pour in the mixture and repeat the
process.
The prepared waffles may be eaten warm or cold, served with
your favourite topping.
Getting the best from your appliance:
Always preheat your waffle maker.
After using the appliance:
Remove the plug from the power outlet and allow the appliance
to cool down completely.
