UNPACKING
Remove all packaging from the appliance and the cooking
surfaces. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so
according to any recycling regulations.
Check that the mains voltage on the rating plate under the
appliance corresponds with the mains voltage in your area. If
items are incorrect, missing or damaged, contact your nearest
Tesco store for assistance.
PLACEMENT
When using your appliance, choose a good location on a solid,
stable, heat-proof work-surface, close to a mains power point.
As the appliance gets very hot in use, it could cause damage to
surfaces that are heat-sensitive. If in doubt about the suitability
of your work-surface, always stand the appliance on a non-
plastic, heat-proof pad.
USING YOUR WAFFLE MAKER
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When switched on for the first time the appliance may emit a
small amount of vapour and light smoke - this is normal - the
manufacturing process includes the use of oils. The vapour will
burn off safely within a few minutes.
Using the appliance for the first time:
Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the mains supply.
Open the appliance with the upper handle.
Wipe the upper and lower cooking plates with a damp cloth
containing a trace of dilute detergent. Remove all traces of
detergent with a cloth damped with clean water. Dry the
cooking surfaces thoroughly.
Brush a very small amount of oil carefully over the cooking
plates, making sure to cover the entire surface.
Do this for the first time only. It is unnecessary to repeat this
operation.
