12. GENERAL PAD ADVICE (cont)

The pads provided are latex –free.

Replace pads when they lose their stickiness.
Poor connection may cause discomfort and skin irritation

Storage life of an unopened pack of electrodes is 2 years.
This may be affected by very high temperatures or very
low humidity.
13. PAD ALARM
Perfect pad contact and condition is important to obtain maximum
benefit from any TENS unit. To ensure best performance the
“itouch easy”
has been fitted with a “Pad Alarm”.
If the contact between any of the pads and the skin or the quality
of the pads is below the required standard the pad alarm will be
triggered. An audible bleep will be heard and at the top of the
screen the word “PADS” will flash.
When the pad alarm is triggered, the Comfort Strength Control
facility will automatically lower the intensity to a comfortable level
thereby avoiding the possibility of any electrical shock, however
small. If the alarm is triggered due to the pads coming partly away
from the body, then when they are put back the intensity will
automatically return to the original level.
The “PADS” alarm does not function on either channel when the
intensity levels are below 5.0mA.
