Follow these steps to “shock” a room:

“shocking a room”
we mean filling the room with enough ozone gas to cover the
entire room and its contents—killing all germs on contact in the air and on the surface.
Due to the variation in room sizes, we cannot make a specific recommendation for time
settings, however the rule of thumb would be to remove the diffuser stone from the
tube and set the OZ unit to the recurring 30 minute program. The longer you run the
generator in this setting the more effective shock treatment you will give the room.
Seal off the room you wish to shock as thoroughly as possible. Close all vents, windows
and doors. Remove houseplants and exit the room immediately after setting the
generator. Upon returning, open doors and vents and then exit the room for 15-45
minutes, or until there is no strong smell of ozone. A slight smell of ozone just means that
Oz has done its work!

The EPA does not recommend breathing ozone gas in the air. Because ozone is effective,
if you get too much it can make you cough, or cause a burning sensation in your eyes
or sinuses. Breathing ozone is not recommended for the very young, elderly or asthma
sufferers. Like some of our most common household tools, such as gasoline, bleach,
electricity or even bug bombs, care should be taken! The EPA recommends moving to an
area with no ozone if you do experience discomfort from overexposure to ozone gas.
Place a fan in the room to make sure that the ozone gas is distributed throughout the area.
This will maximize the bacteria, virus and odor kill!

Make certain all people and
pets have been removed.
•
If the space to be treated
has a separate heating
and cooling system, turn
the system’s fan to “on” to
circulate the air while the
space is being treated.
• Make sure inside doors—
such as bathrooms and
closets—are open.
• Close all outside doors and
windows of the area to be
treated.
•
Set timer to the desired
treatment time and exit the
space during treatment.
•
Upon your return to the
space, make sure to turn
the Oz generator “off”.
•
Allow 15-45 minutes
after the treatment
has completed before
occupying the space or
open the outside windows
and doors upon re-entry.
