PARKING BRAKES

The parking brakes are mechanically activated by

the parking brake lever and two cables.

The parking brakes should be adjusted whenever

the machine rolls after engaging the parking brake,

or when it becomes very easy to engage the parking

brake, and after every 50 hours of operation. The

parking brake may be routinely tightened by turning

the knurled knob on the end of the parking brake

clockwise. If the knob adjustment is inadequate, fully

loosen the knob, loosen the brake cable mounting

nuts, thread the lower nuts closer to the end of the

cable, and retighten the top nuts. Be sure to thread

the nuts out the same number of turns. Adjust the

parking brake enough to make the parking brake

slightly resist being engaged.
